360 appraisals are often looked at as performance-appraisal data collected from ‘all around’ an employee from his or her peers, supervisors, colleagues, direct reports and external customers. Usually, their main objective is to assess and identify the performance strengths and development needs of an individual via the collation of data and gap analysis.
The index360™ Toolkit offers a range of 360 Appraisals, including:
which, whilst providing ‘all around’ employee feedback – also encourages the initiation of communication regarding development and performance needs and opportunities.
Feedback providers can include, but are not wholly dependent upon all:
| Self | Person being appraised |
|---|---|
| Manager | Direct Line Manager to the individual being appraised |
| Peers | People who are known to the individual being appraised but not their work colleagues |
| Colleagues | People with whom the individual being appraised works with on a regular basis |
| Direct Reports | People who report directly to the individual being appraised |
| Customers | People whom the individual being appraised interacts with external to the organisation (please note: this is usually only applicable for the salesindex360© appraisal) |
Any number of individuals can be chosen to provide feedback, however, by the very nature of recognising relevant and appropriate respondents, it is unusual for there to be more than 20.
